HP 2133 MiniNote

The new HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is priced at under $500, and designed with the educational market in mind. This means that the unit is flexible enough for students to use in the classroom or at home, and anyplace in between.

The people at HP have come out with the 8.9-inch HP 2133 to compete with Asus and Everex, which have been competing in the market with their low-cost Linux Notebooks. This HP notebook features an 8.9-inch WXGA display, 4GB SSD, VIA C7-M CPU, 120GB HDD or 160 GB should you choose the expanded storage option. You’ll also get 2GB of RAM, HP DuraKeys, HP 3D DriveGuard, anodized aluminum shell, a scratch-resistent display and Wi-Fi connectivity, which makes this the perfect unit for the student on the go, capable of handling the rigours of constantly moving from class to class and being carried in a backpack when not in use.

Starting at $499, the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC comes loaded with Linux and can be purchased with the more expensive Windows Vista, should you prefer to stick with the Windows OS.
